Bang On 'Em is so dope. I think that's my favorite era of his beats. I miss those real heavy and obvious chops, but they didn't soul overly jerky or overly try-hard either.
I still like a lot of his beats, especially what he does with Evidence, Boldy, Conway, Benny, Q, and to a lesser extent Gibbs. But his 2000's style is my favorite. That first album with Boldy James, M1CS, was like the last batch that had some of those 2000's style beats in it. Covert Coup had a good blend too. This may sound like blasphemy, but I definitely think he drops a few beats now days where it's more like, people like the beat
because he's the guy that made it.
I just found this beat he did this week, and I've never seen it listed anywhere by anyone. It was made during the R&G album sessions.
