First off, where would a boy even get the idea to want to paint his nails? Secondly, the job of a parent is to mold their kids and not simply let them do as they please. At what point do you allow kids (specifically young kids) to make their own choices vs telling them no?

Where does he get the idea? From entertainers—lil uzi, bad bunny, drake etc

At what point? I’d say 18. Then they’re free to be whatever… trans…paint their nails… etc… but probably not under my roof

That is the father prerogative and i would lean towards agreeing with it, when your 18 and an adult you can do what you want, but not as a kid growing up under the household, it isnt proper

i smashed my thumb in a cabinet at work so hard that my thumbnail died and fell off eventually. it turned blue and green. i had my girl paint it with nail polish until it fell off. it was NASTY.. i had to peel the last inch or so off myself. when you smash your nail, it dies, but replacement keratin starts growing under it so it looks disgusting until it heals.

so that is why I, at age 36 wore nail polish for a couple months
