Shooting a man mid pullup is cold af. He probably waited until he was at the end of his set so that he would be even more vulnerable to the hail of lead as he gripped steel...
Now what he should've done is use the pull up bar and nearby exercise apparatus' like monkey bars. Stop the vertical motion and sway side to side to present a moving target. This can be done in a second if a breh has the proper hip control.
This side to side motion will confuse the shooter giving you time to parlay it into a lateral roll behind or onto another exercise machine. I suggest the latter since it gives you the highground (shout out to Obi Wan). By this time the shooter will have exhausted their ammo and it's time for the hunter to become the hunted.
