Lean Back was a global hit when it dropped. This is before streaming and all this other sh*t we have now.

A lot of people in this thread showing they wasn't there, when that was happening.

The Roots were touring in Tokyo in '04 when "Lean Back" was going crazy. They used to always do other people's joints in their setlist. They did "Lean Back" out there, and the people lost their minds! Whole crowd knew the song and was leaning back. That track went crazy back then! Sh*t was Top 50 in mad different countries. And got Joe nominated for a Grammy. Seriously the definition of what a Hip Hop hit looks like.

a lot of mfs hating on facts based on who's the messenger and the fact is LEAN BACK was a huge SUMMER HIT globally in 04. Most of yall mfs weren't there so why we even having this discussion :snoop: Like it or not Joey got MONUMENTAL HITS, your fave rapper would kill for one of those that include "What's luv", "Lean back" and "All the way up". Fat Joe is far from my favorite rapper but facts are facts :yeshrug:

Lean back was a monster and I do still hear that beat placed in everything. It might not be what we wanna hear but lean back is a soft classic.
