You must be blind because in this very thread there is someone else criticizing it. I could scour the internet and find tons of examples of criticisms towards it but I don't really give a shyt about what other people think.

What I meant was, that specific storyline was so out of place with the rest of the show. I know they alluded to it in a lot of the episodes but it could EASILY have not been in the story and no one would have missed it.
What was the significance of it
other than a way out for the cop not to be killed by one of the hillbillies?

Plenty of people criticized the.....moment. Very few turned that into "the season sucked dikk"
Fair enough.
But you are in the extreme minority.
Not saying that you're wrong for that, just clarifying for people interested in the show....most viewers and critics consider it one of the best shows of the year.
I also firmly believe that when shows get "overly hyped" like this,it gets people to watch with sky high expectations and they often leave dissapointed because of those expectations and then another group of people come along labelling overrated. Especially shows like Fargo that have low viewership and strong word of mouth. So its good for other people to hear that not every single person adored it.

If Season 3 is somehow better than Season 2 it automatically enters my top 10. It is elite level television

Agreed, but the shows are overall definitely on par.
I gotta a little system for judging shows.
4-5 great seasons = GOAT contention. I don't even consider it before that.
So while people were saying "GoT" is top 5 after season 2 or 3 or some shyt....I didn't even consider it a factor until seasons 4-5. Same goes for "Fargo". If they pull this off for 2-3 more seasons, I'll definitely have to look at it, all-time.
That's just me though.
