Without knowing how one is 'forced', I can't decide.

It's a philosophical thought experiment of sorts, that part doesn't really matter.

Forced or not forced, it doesn't provide much divergence in the ethical line of questioning (at least in my view).

Do you wish to provide an answer?

I don't think it's such a black or white thing as some are saying. We are social beings, and we do care about others and what others think of us.

I'm not doing it. Let them think I did. There are immoral things I won't do. Raping kids or raping anyone isn't some shyt I'm built for. I don't give a damn what people think, I can't go down that route.

It's not as easy though.

Imagine your mother or father. They would be severely disappointed in you. Possibly crying, committing suicide, or deep depression. It would shatter their lives. They would also have to face to scrutiny from others for being associated with you.

People live with these things already, if they don't believe me, it's on them.

Fair enough. You answer isn't wrong.

But if you had children, you wouldn't be too thrilled with them knowing their father did something horrible.

It's difficult.

They wouldn't know I did something terrible, they'd think I did, because if I didn't do it what is the evidence that says I did?

There's someone in prison convicted of multiple murders right now getting visited by their children or parents. People who truly love you will more than likely forgive in the end, even if you've done something horrific.

Like I said, I'm ok being the guy everyone hates, even if it's my loved ones I'll manage and move on since they've already given me enough love to last a lifetime. No take backs :russ:

:noah:@ this fukked up dilemma...I still couldn't do the shyt. I just would have to convince my parents I didn't do that shyt. They didn't raise me like that! They could disown me in public if they needed to, I'm just not doing that shyt! This is a wild question tho..

The bolded is exactly why I said the hypothetical doesn't seem feasible. It requires us to pretend that humans haven't forgiven the worst, or alternatively that those closest to you will actually be impossible to persuade that you didn't do it. You can see evidence laid out right in front of a mother she'll still say her son didn't do it.

"If you say you aint did it, then you aint did it, and if you did? That's family business."

No take backs :russ:

It may be more advantageous to not submit to 'force' rather than perform (or not perform) the action.

I think that's the point. Reality says none of this is feasable, but within the confines of the origianal question, the answer is very tough.

You can't convince your family, there is no redemption, the world knows you did it. That's it. Which would you choose?

The most immoral, unethical and repugnant act I can think of? :wow:..................Well....if I'm being honest..........

I'm sorry.

:wow:......I'd do it. Right in the nose, too. Over and over until I got tired. Can't think of anything worse.

I can't imagine all my loved ones hating my guts for the rest of my life......having them hate me would just have me like :to:...even worse is knowing that it'll NEVER stop, either

The baby gotta take one for the team. I wouldn't enjoy it one bit either, for the record.

I'd make sure to turn hardcore Christian afterwards too......and hope God could forgive me and let me in heaven anyway
