Since we got two threads on this now, let me just link to my thoughts on the movie in the other thread:

'Fantastic Four' Bombing at the Friday Box Office

:dead: at the bolded.

This movie is a disaster on every level.

My showing was the 10PM screening and the theater wasn't even half full. On a Friday night in the movie's opening weekend! Movie has no buzz whatsoever and what little buzz it might've had will be killed off with the quickness by word-of-mouth.

I'm sure it's easy to say this now, but I wasn't interested at all in this movie even way before the negative reviews leaked in. I had to sit through the trailer for this 3 weeks straight at the theater and each time I sat there thinking

looks meh, I'll pass. I probably would've grabbed this once it hit the Redbox at some point though but now?

No thanks.

OK, I got out of work early today and went to see this movie.

Now it isn't very good but at the same time it wasn't completely horrible either. It definitely isn't deserving of the ridiculous levels of critical bile being thrown at it.

The Good: The actors playing Sue, Reed, Johnny, Doom and Franklin Storm had nice chemistry. The first half of the film focusing on them working on the teleportation tech was good. The effects didn't suck. They could have also spent a bit more time with little kid Ben and Reed too because those scenes were fun. It also is not "grim and gritty" or dark as everyone keeps saying. It is pretty darkly grim as your average Marvel/Disney movie which is to say it is not darkly grim at all.

The Bad: Ben Grimm was not integrated into the rest of the cast or storyline very well in the first half of the film. The second half of the movie with the FF learning to deal with their powers and then facing off against Doom was rushed and sloppy. Whatever editing was done by the suits at Fox was a bad idea and totally fukked over the finished product.
The Thing really should have been wearing some pants.

The Ugly: Everything about Doom as a villain was shytty and the movie would have been better off using Annihilus as the main villain (it would have been easy to just have him be the dominant life-form in the other dimension) and saving Doom for a later film where he could have been closer to the actual comic version of the character. He also looked like crap.

Final Verdict: The movie has a decent first half but just completely falls apart in the second half and continues the Fox tradition of totally shytting the bed when it comes to depicting Dr. Doom correctly.

I will see it this weekend. I am a former comic book collecter and a big fan of comic book movies. I hope I will be entertained for two hours. :mjcry:

You'll take him to see Suicide Squad but the 4th Wall Comic character is the wrong choice? That's a new one..doesn't Harley Quinn make sexual innuendos all the time? WTF:laugh:
Lol I don't know bro. Don't think suicide squad will be rated R will it? He's a kid he won't get the innuendos. Least I think he won't.
