It’s just such an unnecessary thing to put out there. Like are his source(s) for this really telling them they watched “1,500” leave and then made sure to check none of them made it back to their seats? These dumb segments have always been bathroom breaks idk why it has to be fans “leaving by the thousands” now or something. Stupid thing to put out there for no reason.

just watched a youtube video on this :heh: the "source" told Meltzer 700...Meltzer "reports" 1500. :smh:

So it seems people did leave, but Dave exaggerated the number big time, and also didn't even bother to factor in that it was a weekday and people possibly wanted to be able to get home.

Yeah, Alvarez basically said these exact things on one of his recent shows. Dave fukked up here.

If this happened in AEW, Dave would’ve never reported it. His autistic ass has no shame.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that fans left after the Bryan Danielson vs Eddie Kingston match, which was the first of three Rampage matches. The two that followed were Dante Martin vs Matt Sydal, and Britt Baker vs Abadon....

“Next was Dante Martin against Matt Sydal. The match was good – one of the things though is the crowd chanted, they were doing a lot of wrestling and they were doing less acrobatics than in their previous matches, and the crowd was chanting, ‘We want flips’, so they were not appreciative of the mat work.

“Also I’m gonna say this, and this is not a social experiment but it is a social experiment at the same time. Lots and lots of people left after the Eddie Kingston/Bryan Danielson match. Many, many, many, many people. That absolutely happened, just like at the show we mentioned before with Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair. It absolutely happened. So I can get all this hatemail, or I won’t, because it happened.”

'Lots & Lots' Of Fans Left During AEW Rampage Taping - WrestleTalk

People that were there are debunking this so it seems like :duck: from Dave again.

So based on this thread, are we calling ducktales on Dave's reporting from the Rampage tapings or are we believing him? I forgot whether he's a face or a heel today.
