I think it's interesting that the writers are able to drawn the line that "minority = Black" when many posters on this website cannot.
the majority of minorities in america are not black, but anything with minority written on it will be a reason to attack black people. if we get singular scorn but millions of others enjoy collective benefits, that is not exactly optimal.

Singular scorn is a bit of a stretch, wouldn't you say? "Build the wall" and the issue of unchecked immigration was one of the main talking points from the same interests promoting what this current OP-ED is pushing.
It's not the Black population that will eventually supplant the white population in America. And that fear gets exploited every chance a politician can use it.

but im talking domestic policy that attempts to address past wrongs. when these programs have the word minority in them, it really just sounds like "black" to non-black people. immigration is a non-sequitur. just because cacs are at the center of both issues doesnt mean the issues feed into each other. if we closed the country, people would still view welfare, affirmative action, and various other domestic policy programs as giving to lazy, undeserving you-know-whos. being against redistributive or race-conscious programs is not based in fear - it is based in hate and competition.

:scust:The American white middle class is built on subsidies, subsidies Black people were locked out of die to racism. Now that we're getting some subsidies, they want to cry foul. Also why I give the side eye to class-first socialists. Whites love socialism, as long as it only benefits them.

Also, where's the "tangibles" gang on this?
Crazy right smh

it's to gin up resentment. that's what the both siders fail to grasp (actually i think it's intentional at this point) when they try to say something needs to be specifically for X and they need to say X, not this other word that anyone with common sense knows what it means. but say X so that it's dead on arrival and we can then say "see, both sides." no room for finessing language, that's what cowards who want to accomplish something do.

look how they're using the courts to tie up the covid relief funds for minority farmers ... black farmers then. but you know what would have prevented that from happening, if they just came out and say it's for black people then no one would have an issue with it right.

your enemies know what's up, why don't you?
It's like when Obama said too many of us don't understand how American politics work
