:facepalm:This show is a classic...loved it growing up and still love it today.

The show wasn't about "white supremacy." Archie was just a representation of the America that "once was" pre-1960s ie soft bigotry, factory worker, of the pro American generation who clashed with his young neo liberal, over educated "burn the flag" new school son in law.

It was a characterization of a changing of the guard between the generations of the time.

Definitely one of the most telling and provocative shows without a doubt. Even the chair that he sat in in the show is displayed in the Smithsonian

We need more honest shows like that today instead of all this PC "everything is offensive" bullshyt we got right now. Archie was a real person, for all his flaws. fukk it. I'd rather chill with Archie Bunker than these corny white "woke" liberals any day of the week.

Why is it so hard to stay out of black affairs ?
could you imagine a random black person on an indian based site giving input ?

The fukk are you talking about? That show took place in Maspeth, Queens. Back in the day we would ride our bikes all through Maspeth and Middle Village all the way from Corona Where you from? Who the fukk is you?

Above the fray.
back in the day my mom's best friend was an Irish woman from middle village Queens, I would stay with them all the time when my mom's was at work. They treated me so good, the woman's mother was a spitting image of Edith no lie....we would go to the supermarket and she would ask me what I wanted for "supper" and all that. Treated me like gold, better than my real family to tell you the truth. Her name was miss Mary. God rest her soul. I fukks with all in the family.

Miss Mary, though...?

it was a touching post until that.......can't hear that without thinking of miss anne and Kizzy from Roots

if her last name was Mary, you get a pass. If her first name was Mary? hell no!

just jokes

LOL well yeah her first name was Mary. I called her Miss Mary.

Once Miss Mary made me a sandwich and took the crust off the bread. When I told her I liked the crust she made me a whole new one even though I told her it was all good. She was the real deal.

In the later seasons they soften the Archie character. He was a victim of child abuse or something like that.
