Graphics and gameplay are dated as fukk, add that to a game that was an unstable buggy mess with barely any content when it dropped and it’s obvious why it was panned, not to mention Bethesda were useless at handling all of the complaints.

right now tho? It’s a lot better, it’s still dated, but a lot of the bugs are gone and there’s a lot more content, if you can look past the old ass engine it’s not bad, I actually enjoyed levelling my character/skills and building up my base, I’d probably say this game has the best Home/build system Iv seen. The community is also one of the most helpful too

They effectively brought this game from a 4/10 to a 7/10

call me old as fukk but I love the glitches in games... I just love how they took the vastness of Fallout games, and said "Okay here's Virginia for multiplayer with same assets as FO4"

barring price at launch, I think its cool when you get the most out of your assets while you can... then they improved on crafting and made building more intuitive. It's like they said, "I wish we could do this with FO4, but it wouldnt make sense in context" so they made a part 2 just to throw those ideas out into the world. Which realistically helps people eat until FO5 comes. I think if they got a new engine and made it more realistic without the funny glitches you'd be playing a horror game with glossy music :russ: I like the fact that enemies get stuck on shyt and make bad decisions. If they were on some Nemesis shyt I'd be :hubie::gucci: this is gonna sound wild but, I think a certain charm of Bethesda games is... making you feel way smarter than the world they created. Which gives it that "Lone Wanderer/Hero" quality.

Which demonstrates why this game should not have been released until a year later.

These companies get away with broken games because idiots keep buying them at launch.

I played this game and thought the graphics were decent.. Then i played The Outer Worlds and i thought this game looked terrible. Hopefully Microsoft will bless them with a new engine

I play all these games different too, I dont fast travel until the very end when I need to go home
the map size and placement of camps makes that shyt feel like an actual journey
I dont offload and travel back, I just keep pushing till I find a station to deposit shyt and do quests and scavenge until I'm ready to turn it off

same shyt with Skyrim and Zelda ... I feel like fast travel ruins games unless you really need that shyt

Just started playing this.
Been a Fallout fan since MS-DOS.

This game is dope now. Im glad I missed the initial launch, apparently NPCs weren't a thing :dwillhuh:

This just plays like a new Fallout game. Jankyness and all. Which is good and bad.

Had some clowns attack me at random but since you take less damage until you attack back I just kept taunting them. They followed me to a mine and. I went inside set a mine down and waited. I wanted them to come through so bad. But they didn't. Even so, the fact that this game has that as a probable scenario is dope. I'm only 7 or so hours in but this game is fun and seems like it's in a good spot now.

The only MAJOR complaint is sometimes the quests or hints seem like I'm supposed to take care of it at that moment but they won't open up or get resolved till later. I'm glad I only try for a few minutes and if the answer isn't apparent I look it up. Everytime it's because something is for a later quest or a completely different area.
