It was a good game, but not a great one. Like dude said above, it's "dumbed down," compared to Fallout 3 (which I absolutely loved). It's more of a FPS now than an RPG (and not a particularly good FPS at that). The sense of wonder and amazement is also missing from the game. Fallout 3 had some amazing locations and you wanted to keep exploring to see what was next. Fallout 4, not so much. It's just locations with some bad guys to kill, with an interesting mission put in here and there.
It's an 8/10 game, while Fallout 3 was a 9.5/10 game
