it makes it slower paced for me. you have to be more cautious, and not just run in, guns blazing. but maybe that's just the way I play
Word. I usually play pretty stealth heavy because it's more fun to me but I'll go in guns blazing & clear the room in VATS if I'm feelin cocky or just going thru the motions. I prefer combat to be more tactical & difficult than it is in the vanilla game but without my enemies being bullet sponges.

I don't know how I feel about this. I kinda hated settlement building in the main game :patrice:

I'll probably make one nice settlement with the new items and call it a day :patrice:

I want that story DLC though....badly.

I'm going to turn Starlight Drive-In into a battle arena. Pitting settlers and my robots against the monsters of the Commonwealth. All of my settlements are going to have traps set up everywhere lol.

settlement building thing seems just waste my time. If I want to play settlement with the new itmes then I'll play SIMs.

It was optional to put time into settlement building, but a rather easy way to get some extra caps, food and water. But it seems the new survival mode path will give them a larger purpose, unless you wanna run back to Sanctuary every time you want to save and can't find a bed. Should've been in the game day one, but ah well.

I got fooled today when I saw a new patch on the PS4. Apparently, its to set up for the new Settlement DLC, but I was hoping it was the survival mode patch :mjcry: Glad to see they're addressing some of the issues PC players are noticing. I can't believe they're lowering carry weight even more. Does anyone yet know exactly how diseases come about? From what I've seen on various let's plays, it seems kind of random rather than automatically getting it after eating X amount of bad (uncooked) meat.

yeah lowering the carry weight is kinda crazy. it was already pretty harsh. shyt's like Stalker where you really have to think about everything you pick up, and even leave useful shyt behind

I think a lot of things, like being fatigued, lower your immunity. a few times I just woke up sick. I'm glad they toned it down a little

lowering carry weight even more? :francis:

Strength based melee characters will be that much more violent once they get to mid-levels with respectable defense and perks to avoid being murdered in 2 hits.

I almost always go agility/perception focused character, but I might have to go melee and throw a bunch of points in strength instead :patrice:

just tried the new patch, and my max carry weight went from 130 to 105 :damn:

plus with the increased fusion core weight, I was at 137 :damn:

had to dump a bunch of shyt on my companion :francis:

gonna have to really trim down the number of guns I carry

:yeshrug:

I just carry my silenced pistol and sniper rifle. I'm like Jack Bauer out there in the Commonwealth.

empty bottles are pretty much the most valuable item now. you can turn them into a purified water at any water pump. kinda silly part is you can't reuse them after you drink the purified water. it would be nice if they made a refillable canteen

another thing that doesn't make sense if when you drink a purified water, it still refills some HP. but if you drink straight from the pump, it doesn't affect your HP

shyt is fun though, and you definitely have to play different. biggest change for me is not being able to save all the time. I'm usually constantly hitting quicksave. plus I've grown used to the bethesda auto-saves at loading screens. I was proud of myself when I managed to 'clear' Corvega first try in this new survival mode. I didn't actually kill everyone, but rather took the most direct route to that final room, and let the protectron kill that mini-boss :lolbron:
