Got the game a few says ago making my way to Diamond City. .having some problems with attacking and being attacked. Not sure how to mod my weapons or if I need to have power armor suit when I do things like clear the Chem lab. Did it all with a shotgun

If you are tired of npc's in your settlements stealing your items, as well as knocking over your stuff that you set up to be nice, buy a home at Diamond City. The home even has a power armor repair spot outside of the front door. You also get a roof top sitting area. It's really nice and I plan to store all my "special items" in there. Nuka Cola collection, magazine collect, special weapons area, Power Armor will be on the roof. The possibilities.
We dont even know what the download content will be, brehs.

Diamond City is smaller than Megaton, Goodneighbor wouldn't even be considered a major settlement in another Beth game, Bunker Hill doesn't have enough named NPCs or side quests and those Hubs FOR SURE don't qualify. Calling Railroad HQ a town is like calling Dark Brotherhood HQ a town... Institute is an enemy location IMO because no way I'll ever not blow them up and you have to rebuild The Castle yourself... Prydwen could kinda qualify I guess, it's sorta like the Citadel.

I feel like the BOS is following me everywhere I go. If I pass a raider camp, when I come back that way, I'll see BOS clearing out the area.
Breh, I called them quest hubs. Honestly, FO3 only had 2 towns. Rivet City and Megaton. I never played FONV, does that have more/larger towns?
Also I've never played those Scroll games. I'm not into midevil fantasy.
In Diamond City if you go up the elevator to the Major, talk to his secretary and she will give you a place for 2000 caps. Trust me, its worth it. To know that your shyt doesn't get stolen. Once you buy the place, it will be just like a settlement but wont allow you to build walls, water, grow food, roofs, defense, or floors. I think you can also send your companions to your diamond city home. I'm going to try in an hour from now.
Just run/sprint the whole way there, even if people start shooting at you. Also if you see a white arrow, follow it. They are put there by diamond city security to lead new people to the entrance. If you hear a bomb beeping close and closer, you have two options to stay alive, run, or use VATs and aim for the arm that has the bomb in it.
My one gripe about the diamond city home is that you can't setup supply lines there, so you gotta drag your junk/resources there yourself if you wanna really go in on it. It's a cool lil apartment spot tho. I only bought it, cleared it out and setup lights. One thing I do wanna know is Does that Home Plate fast travel marker spawn you INSIDE the house or outside the front door?

Its been reported on reddit that someone put a fat man in a container at a settlement and then after awhile they checked out their weapons shop and noticed that a fat man was on sell. So he was pleasantly surprised until he noticed that his fatman was gone.Damn I didn't notice shyt getting stolen

True, but I dont want any of my loot to be stolen. I will still make the Castle my home, I'll just have a special hide out with all my nice things in it.
