I like the acting but it was nothing special to me that made distinct in the genre.
I agree, the acting was phenomenal but it wasn't the best of the year...but damn if that wasn't some great acting though; the story just needed some more depth

That's what happens breh. Very rarely do you get a movie that comes out early, like spring or summer, and still gets award love, let alone votes. It's crazy to think about it but silence of the lambs came out in february 91 and still managed to win best picture when the oscars were held almost a year later. That's a rare feat
