Matt Ryan is a good QB. Some can even argue he's very good. I personally will give him "very good" even though there are others i'd pick over him. He's just not elite. even tho he gets elite QB type money

With the WR corp he has at his disposal i expected him to eventually start posting video game/Kurt Warner's prime type numbers but it simply hasnt happened.

The problem is their O-line needs help. Ryan (who is not elite) is getting elite type money so people will expect elite type production from him in return. A lot of my friends are Falcons fans and while he's not as polarizing as Vick was, it's still a love hate relationship in the sense that a lot of fans love him but those that dont just hate him. Their GM failed them. Their coach is alright at best. They may have missed their window when they had both Michael Turner and Tony Gonzalez and a decent line 2 years ago.

Vick is more polarizing because he gets a reaction out of anyone pre dogfighting while Ryan doesn't get a reaction out of outside fans like that. Falcons fans... that's the different story. I have so many writeups on Ryan is crazy but the point remains, Ryan needs perfect conditions to be great. I said it a long time ago. He's a good manager. Get him a good OL, a good RB, and a good D and he's fine. He really doesn't need Julio. Julio is a luxury for Ryan. Trade Julio to the Texans for Clowney and their 1st and watch how much better the Falcons get.

Every QB needs a (at least) good oline to play well. Mobile qbs like Vick and Cam can make up for the lack of a great ol. Peyton had always had great lines after his first few years and it paid off. Same with Brady. They can do without the great rb which is what makes them elite. Ryan is simply not in that class

Torrey Smith

I want him to do well but he's been underwhelming this season more times then not.. That first int by Joe could have been prevented if Torrey actually fought for position and fought for the ball. I'm not sure what's going on but he hasn't been the same this season. Is it because of the offense scheme? That doesn't take away the fact his hustle hasn't been 100%. Not sure but Torrey is one of my favorite Ravens, I hope we extend his contract.
