Faith Evans and Stevie J shocked the world with their surprise nuptial, but no one was more surprised than their own families. TMZ reports that family members from both sides were not expecting a marriage or even a romantic relationship, and their respective kids are taking it the hardest.
Faith’s son with the late Biggie Smalls, CJ Wallace, seems to be the most upset – mainly because Stevie is his godfather. Faith referred to Stevie as her “brother” years ago in a VladTV interview after he gave her a $75,000 loan to buy a new house. Now that the songstress is singing a different tune, her family feels completely “hurt and blindsided”.
When the news hit the media, reports say that Faith’s family was trying to contact her nonstop and all she responded with was their new song “A Minute”, saying it only takes a minute to fall in love.
This will be Faith’s 3rd marriage, while surprisingly it’s only Stevie’s 1st. Stevie never married any of the mothers of his children, including Joseline Hernandez, who he proposed to on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta. After breaking up, Joseline tried proposing to him but the two could not make it work. With Faith, Stevie proposed to her unexpectedly and requested that they get married that day, in a hotel room – no wedding party, no flowers, no family. Is this real love or a publicity stunt?
