just tried to apply for a local warehouse job. its asking my what my school qualifications are, what my current/previous jobs is, references from employers etc.

i just gave up.

you can give up when your dead. your still collecting experience points. Get used to rejection. There's thousands of other people looking for jobs. This one just wasn't yours. Every time you fail, you learn something about how to succeed.

Volunteer experience would help you fill in all that stuff, and it will build your character, give you confidence, etc

The best thing to do is to try to apply anywhere in person. ask to speak to the manager and say you don't have much experience, it is your first job and your serious about getting your life together. They will see your commitment to yourself translate into work ethic.

There MUST be a government program to help you with your resume or to find you volunteer work. I just met the guy who helped me with my resume at my job today.

Literally make them up, put down a friends number (one time I was thinking of putting down my own number, then boost myself up :heh:), all they do is ring, they ain't gonna put a private detective out there.

Level the playing field with lies my friend.

Ain't really illegal to lie on a cv (dubious, but I doubt illegal, not for manual jobs anyway), I used to have 3 versions on my PC, depending on what kinda job it was, then I'd select which one to use.

You have to lie to get on more or less IMO.
