imhotep (c. 2650–2600 BC)

vizier, sage, physician, architect, astrologer, and chief minister to pharaoh djoser (reigned 2630–2611 BC), who was the first physician known by name in written history and later worshipped as the god of medicine in egypt.

he is considered to have been the architect of the step pyramid built at the necropolis of saqqara in the city of memphis, the oldest extant monument of hewn stone known to the world. the pyramid consists of six steps and attains a height of 200 feet (61 meters).

huni (reigned ca. 2625 B.C - 2600 BC)

the last king of egypt's 3rd dynasty who paved the way for the great pyramid builders of the 4th Dynasty with his substantial construction projects and the possible restructuring of regional administration. it has been suggested that the pyramid at meidum may have been his, and many egyptologists seem certain that it was at least begun by him.

MENMAATRE SETI I
Seti I was probably one of the least well known pharaohs of the New Kingdom period of Ancient Egypt. However, his temple in Abydos is among the most famous, cited by many as the most impressive religious structure still standing in Egypt.

Seti's place in history was overshadowed by that of his son, Ramesses II, arguably one of the greatest pharaohs in Egyptian history.

Yet Seti was an important character in his own right, as he was one of the pharaohs who had to bring order back to Egypt and re-establish Egyptian sovereignty over it's eastern neighbours (Syria and the Levant) following the social disruption caused of Akhenaten's religious reforms.

Seti was also responsible for commissioning the construction of the grand temple in Abydos.

(Ancient Egyptian painting from the tomb of Pharaoh Seti I, Nineteenth Dynasty. This is currently located at the Neues Museum Berlin).
