Well let's be honest here... there's black face, then there's this.
Black face is wrong because it caricatures black features through a white persons destorted cultural lense and it's ugly...plus it's the white person himself who's applying the makeup so their racial biases are part of it... and that's real racism
But after reading on it this app uses facial recognition and neural networks (artificial intelligence) and creates realistic racial features by copying actual features from images of different races and simulating how a person would look using algorithms. It's not people pulling biases together and making charicatures of different races through their racist cultural lense. It's a computer using accurate models and data...
I think regardless of anyone's opinion it's a damn impressive technical feat...
suppressing this technology while allowing some other nefarious and harmful shyt go on (like GMOs...and all the other cancerous shyt we are subject to) is testament to the fukkery in this world.
