chimps/apes/primates are so intelligent. I was reading a thread on reddit months ago about how there's some place where all the apes know sign language, and they can actually legitimately have a full on conversation with you. The girl who created the thread was talking about how one of the apes told her that he really liked her red sweater (even called it a sweater and everything...) so she gave him her sweater to play with. and we have these things locked up in cages at zoos so humans can stare at them. kinda fukked up

no they weren't inspired by that. the first known "human" zoo started in mexico (after exotic animal zoos had been around for a little while) that featured animals and humans, not specifically black people, but dwarfs, hunchbacks, albinos etc. Then there were human/animal zoos that sprouted up in europe that featured a wide variety of races(including africans and moors). It's all sickening though imo, at least in regards to keeping HIGHLY intelligent animals like whales, dolphins, apes, monkeys etc. I went to the zoo a few weeks ago and the gorillas looked so fukking depressed it was awful.
