Say you are a head a large corporation making serious bank (1 billion) or came into ridiculous lottery money. Would you buy an expensive home in a private area?
I would have something nice but not too big, all kinds of upkeep to keep track of. I would maybe 3-4 bedrooms, 4 car garage, and a pool outback.
Did some googling of high-dollar homes and came up with this $175M place in NY. You could get lost in this place, especially considering in the aerial shot below, the white lined area is all yours. I think that is about as private as you are gonna get. Anybody know if these houses come furnished as they are displayed or are you buying all your own stuff?

Right where the Atlantic Ocean meets the ritzy Hamptons, there is a sprawling estate that is now the most expensive property on the market in New York with an asking price of $175 million.
The estate, built for the Ford family of Ford Motor Company, sits on a sprawling 42 acres that includes a mansion that is filled with luxurious amenities ranging from its own library to a 60-foot heated pool.
Completely renovated in 2008, the 20,000 square-foot home on the property boasts 12 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms and a large chef’s kitchen. The estate, known as Jule Pond, looks out onto a quarter mile of ocean on the coveted (and pricey) Hamptons beach. It has the largest ocean frontage, the length of land that faces the ocean, in the area, according to Bespoke Real Estate, which holds the listing.
Aside from the expansive bed-and-bath offerings, the estate is filled with all kinds of amenities including three ponds, a separate spa, an outdoor kitchen, a basketball court and a tennis court. There is also a three-bedroom Carriage house, greenhouse and a six-car garage on the property.
