Late last week in the wake of The Expendables 2 hitting movie theaters, it was revealed that 1984 Private Defense Contractors, the production company responsible for co-financing films such as Liam Neeson's The Grey and Brad Pitt's upcoming Killing Them Softly, had hired newcomer Dutch Southern to script an all-female riff on the all-star action franchise. According to Variety, the production company is already in talks with several potential stars, with an eye toward casting "several prominent women from the action genre."
