She's getting off very light here.

She'll be a free woman in a few years.

Not enough in my opinion.

The mom said that they called the family into the office in the middle of the night to mention the plea deal. Only gave them a few hours to accept/deny it. Personally, I would have said no or make her admitting guilt and explaining what happened part of the condition of the deal. You can tell that the mother regretted accepting the deal as her opinion about it changed right after.

Their only true chance of getting the full story in what happened is if Billy Ray Turner confesses and tells of what happened. He's the one who should have gotten the plea deal instead if we're being honest. Now she has no incentive to talk and he doesn't either since it won't matter anyways.

The prosecution didn't have all the answers and instead of just working they are making her plead guilty with lesser time on the table.

That's a very common strategy those prosecutors use.

She killed that man when she found have just let him go on about his business. This night be as senseless as it gets.

Her lawyers were the ones who came up with the plea agreement and not the prosecution. They had Billy Ray Turner in custody and another informant who actually was the one to lead them to the gun. There was no reason for a plea agreement to be offered since they more than likely had enough evidence to convict.

She had two high profile lawyers who previously ended up dropping her case as they believed that she wasn't being truthful in what all happened that night. I believe it was more of a situation where everyone involved just wanted the case dropped/solved with the out of sight/out of mind mentality.

She's from the Memphis area, so of course she has. This is a high profile case involving an NBA player, so the majority of people knew/have heard of the case.
Aww shyt that's different then but I'm sure most folk never heard of Lorenzen Wright breh. I'm an NBA head so I know the story but most folk barely know the McNair story and he was waay more popular than Lorenzen. Most non-sports fans don't know the Sean Taylor story either.

The majority of people know of those stories, they don’t know/remember all of the details involved. We are also talking about cases that are over 10 years old with the whole world constantly evolving and so things are going on at once.

I actually saw Wright’s mom a few years back working at Marshall’s. I’m assuming it was too much for her or people kept asking about the case as she quit soon after.
