snoop was an artist on death row. thats it.nate may or may have not been signed as a full fledge artist yet since it took his full album forever to drop. snoop already had an album. so he's under contract and strict guidance as to who he can work with and how many songs he can put out there(no oversaturation like today so as to savior his appeal to the masses.) "sorry you cant do that joint with ya homie warren cause warren isnt a deathrow producer nor a deathrow artist. he's just hanging around the office and label/studio area helping out. not really signed/or under contract.

nate can do what he wants cause nate probably wasnt officially signed. if i remember correctly death row didnt sign nate until they thought he was rolling with warren to another lable to be officially signed. its kind of like how roc signed kanye as an artist but only really wanted him for beats. they like nate for hooks but wasnt trying to put out a nate album. at least not early on.
