“That’s the reality because sports is a mechanism of control. If people didn’t have sports they would be a lot more disappointed with their role in society. There would be a lot more anger or stress about the injustice of poverty and hunger. Sports is a way to channel our energy into something positive. Without sports who knows what half of these kids would be doing?”

I’ve seen people make the case that sports is a way to distract the public from the issues that matter. That it’s more of a pacification tool than a way to channel “positive energy”. Don’t misunderstand. I love sports. We all do. But sometimes I do feel there’s some truth there.

Oh, it is definitely true to some degree. It's like when parents give their kids a video game, a tablet, a cartoon to keep them from making trouble for a little bit. Kids are usually entertained, but the objective wasn't really to entertain them.

What the fukk does too smart for Basketball mean

That some of his other interests may pull him away from the sport, that he isn't one of the "ball is life" guys.
It's like the Florida State dude who was a Rhodes Scholar and some NFL coaches were concerned that he would not give his all on the football field because he might have other interests in life, like being a doctor.

You got the axe, but you quit

Eveytime i see a long post. :duck:

You couldve made it a bit more interesting, since ya know, you made it up
Typically I wouldnt wsste time responding to :trash: but I didnt make it clear in my original post. I did quit but the week and a half leading up to it I was hardly on the team. Went to practice, dealt with coach, played about 5 minutes in games if that, wash and repeat. So yeah I like to believe I quit but in reality it was all his decision. If you think that was a fake post idk what to tell you bruh, Ive seen way more unbelievable clashes between players and coaches since I was in middle school

I’m sure I wasn’t the only one not a fan of the pick initially but breh has steadily improved. That motor and will to get better is evident and hopefully he keeps on shining .

Him and Tatum gonna be the best 2-3 combo in a couple years if Ainge don’t split them up :ehh:

D Book/Josh Jackson coming for that crown:youngsabo:

nikkas out here writing essays trying to get other people on dude dikk :mjlol:

Jaylen is aight, let's leave it at that. Dude doesn't deserve idol worship because he's a decent basketball player with a brain.
If in this very current day and age, you can't see why what hes saying and doing at such a young age is of value beyond basketball to young men in this country, I don't know what to tell you breh. :francis:

I like the Brad Stevens boston team as a whole and this is coming from someone who despised the Big 3 Doc Rivers Celtics and hates the city of Boston as a whole.

Been a fan of his since last year when I saw him step up and guard LeBron in the playoffs. Dude has all the tools of a perennial all star in the NBA. Can someone explain to me why he’s playing 2 now and Tatum is playing 3? Shouldn’t it be vice versa? Tatum is the better shooter, but Jaylen is the better defender, 3 is more important than the 2 because of all the great forwards in the league rn. What’s up with that?
