He isn't relevant to black folks, i don't listen to the radio and I don't check for cacs.. .. it's not 2002 anymore only reason I know of him is a random female. I didn't even know the cac made rap music all i've heard was losing control

I honestly didn't even knew dude made rap . Girl that referred me losing control is Puerto rican and black. listening to this interview i was mad confused with dude talking about he deserve more rap looks

Cole aint really commercially successful. He aint on social media like that. He dont have no songs that are played every hour on the radio. Cole drops an album, tours, falls back repeat.

His last album sold like that cuz he put out them tracks you listed and nikkas thought it was gon be a full album like that.

True good point but dude goes platinum and goes on big tours so that is commercially successful. He might not have the hits with the exception of crooked smile and a few others he had in the past or social media presence which imo is a plus but he is popping in all other factors. He is popping in a non-fickle way too. I mean sure he could aim for them number 1 joints and top 40 records but his fans are loyal and still bought and streamed his albums though it was bull crap to most of us.

As for your second paragraph I disagree, he went platinum cause his fans were loyal and supported him even if his album to most of us was whack. I mean sure people initially thought the songs I mentioned were gonna be on it but that only accounts for the Initial sales. His album did not go platinum over night so the sales that came from mislead buyers don't account for the platinum status imo.


Overall you have a point though, maybe he doesn't rap the way he did in the past or the way we would like because he wants to experiment and because the thing now a days is to incorporate melodies a lot too. I mean listening to 4 your eyes only it's like he made the album he wanted to make more then anything so I take back what I said on him doing what he does to be commercially successful. I don't think he cares about that or needs to care about it either. He just does what he wants to, so he really raps when he wants too and he experiments and tries to get really socially conscious when he wants to as well.
