Timbo also had ghost producers inhouse possibly like Devante. Yet since he was already in the Devante swing producer artist prison camp. He always was very transparent about what those records were either in print or via j card. So timbo and i can even day dre have been pretty transparent about wtf rhey did. Quincy is a prodigy an outsider art prodigy. Yet his missteps in giving mj credit still give me a bad reaction. Along with the fact he holds a grudge because he is not culturally apart of hiphop. Plus is incapable of making real credible high quality culture based submissions in the rap genre. Plus no idea sonically, or directionwose how fo sonically craft a album created for the business that arose from the pillars and history of hiphop culture.

Still
Play Hey Papi and Is That Your Chick like it was just released yesterday.

Love those records.

.

Records are were cold. I have the vinyl to hey papi. As the sdtrk to nutty professor goes off into the too commercial rails. To ever watts t a full purchase pf the sdtrk in any long player format whatsoever. It is a far cry from what juice is. Especially to be released on defjam. Where it is made in the rnb dominant island/defham era of the late nineties. Where defjam arose back to commercial and crucial critical dominance.
Where company wide release to release on defjam become even more strikingly too commercial.
for music derived from the businesses of the pillars. To eventually arrive where we are now.

From mj's account of production arrangement and construction of just beat it alone. Mj's account of just beat it for this discussion. Leads a lot to be said about Quincy. Past the pr and Quincy leaning upon his reputation. As real talk,...Quincy has never made modern revoltionary defining pop after thriller.
Not supplied a record of the same type of sonic arrangement as beat it. Beat it as a lone pop submission is argueably only rivaled by eye of the tiger in impact and sonic distinction. Yet Quincy has never made another record after. That matches or equals those records as gateways. In that manner or progression of blues, rnb and misappropriated rock or blue as well.

It is like if you hear beat it.
Plus mj's account and mj's style of production to craft songs.
Sonically. As an audiophile to grassroots organic creation.
Anyone who knows Quincy as a study knows. He can not beat box. Yet the beatbox mj created run and drum percussion pattern on beat it. Resonates as mj's lone beatbox organic created work. As mj does not need a engineer consultant or audiophile to mix. As mj is the standard bearing industry setting position for road, tv to legendary stadium science as an audiophile.
Not to mention, mj was connected in urban intellectual like with the current pulse of the country and world. As the world was chasing mj as the best skill performer since the visual airing of abc live. Not to mention the Jackson had a variety show to cartoons. That terraformed the national conscience and ohla eof American children globally. So in that whenever Quincy is interviewed. Then asked about thriller or mj. Then this is brought up. I guarantee said INTERVIEW went for a more clarified answer. Where quincy in expert media trained fashion. will deflect on the standard four bar loop in rap. When JONES need to stop deflecting. Then create a rampway to do just that.

The beat was out there and Pimp used that as one of many reasons for not doing the record, but Gipp spilled the beans and said Pimp told him “I ain’t doing the record cause I don’t want to water down my brand doing songs with a nikka like Jay-Z.”

Thought he was a clown like most nikkas west of the Mississippi did.
