HBO max.. errr MAX

Much like Ryan Reynolds, Afleck has had a chance to try again as a comic hero.

The weight of everybody saying this movie is shyt for a couple decades now.. that's making me a little bummed to even watch this joint.

The sonar effect is dope. Stan Lee cameo! Origin story from childhood, slow start.

1/5: don't bother.

Bad acting. Action was meh. Mean spirited. Biting off every superhero movie they could.

Next up: X2!! I remember really liking this

X2

Also on Starz

Before I watch this I am gonna predict that it may be a 5/5. Which means: you can watch it unlimited times.

So many iconic scenes. Action is great. Effects hold up. Once again great adaptation of the comic X Men. The plot is vastly superior to the first Xmen.

I will stick with the 5/5. It's a notch under stuff like Friday and the Matrix as far as infinite rewatchability, but definitely above the 4/5 (watch a couple few times). If I did halfs I'd say 4.5, but I don't do halfs so I will round up a lil.

Excellent. Mystique just walking around azz nekkid for my JBO Brehs.

Next up: Hulk. Always thought it was interesting style wise.

No giant blue laser, but the big threat is Cerebro nuking all humans.. SOHH still shutting down a doomsday machine.

Pretty sure there was a Punisher movie in the 80s with Dolph Lundgren they're not listing

Gonna look it up. I do remember that vaguely myself.

Edit: From what I am seeing it didn't release in theaters in the US. Basically, straight to VHS.. although it released in many foreign countries.

Gonna weasel out of including it. I kinda remember never wanting to see it again.

Hulk

On Hulu

2/5 watch it instead of watching a cake bake, but not a must see.

I like the comic book style visuals and transitions. This is technically the beginning of the MCU Hulk. If you pay attention the Norton Hulk loosely picks up after this. So a completionist would need to peep this.

Hulk too cartoony. Villain is weak sauce. Story is just a slow dead end.

Big ass energy field at the end. And Stan Lee cameo.

Next is the Punisher (2004). Not really a banger

The Punisher

On Peacock which I don't have. But I can rent.

I'll give it a 3/5. There's some dope action and the plot is pretty engrossing for a cool 45 min or so. It gets type corny, acting and plotwise after that.

As a comic Breh, this Punisher isn't the "real" Punisher. This coulda been a movie like Commando. Supposing they called it something else and skipped the "costume".

But do watch it if you never seen it. It's cool.

Next up. Spider Man 2. Do gone be good if I remember correctly.

Spider-Man 2

Netflix

Back to some heat.

Only on the first act but this is definitely the closest to the comic Spiderman as far as things like JJJ, Aunt May, and Peter's life as a civilian. Always late. Struggling with work, school, and personal at every turn.

Ash from evil dead cameo!! Street performer with the classic Spiderman theme song!!

Got damn this is excellent. Calling it now. 5/5

Stan Lee cameo!!

Giant ball of sunlight at the end, so not exactly a beam.

Doc fukcin Ock looking like a powerhouse. Raimi is brilliant at times. This is one.

Had to rent off of Prime. Don't think it's anywhere for free.. which actually means it's still got legs and is still selling. Just a theory.

Effects and action hold up very well. Plot has started to get a lil thin at the 30 min mark.

No blue laser to the sky, but there was a ritual with mad bluish lightning.

I was thinking this might be a 4/5... but the plot is weak enough to distract from the great action and decent effects.

3/5 after all. Worth one good watch.

Next up: XMEN!!. I remember X2 being better, but I'm a lil amped.
It's funny you mention this Blade was on Tubi just a month ago:russ:
