Goku didn't abandon his kids he was out there savin the world. If Raditz hadn't died there wouldn't have been a world left for Gohan to live in anyway. Goku making the noble sacrifice once again so that he could protect his family. Did the same when Cell was about to blow shyt up. Goten wouldn't have even been born if Goku hadn't died for everyone.

He out here sacrificing himself to save the world so they can actually have a place to live and Vegeta stans are hating. I guess they must be
that Vegeta is always unconscious or helpless and Goku always has to save the day. 
the guy begged them not to wish him back after defeating Cell. Oh or how about when he defeated Frieza and they tried to wish him back to Earth and was like nah I'm training see y'all nikkas in a year. Or how about him leaving to train Ubuu he can use instant transmission he has 0 excuse why he couldn't train Ubuu help his village then be back how to his family by night everyday.
Also Vegeta made the ultimate sacrifice for Trunks, Bulma, and Goc00ns kids, Piccolo made the ultimate sacrifice for Gohan, and Gohan made the ultimate sacrifice for Trunks is Cac00nrot supposed to get a cookie for doing something multiple characters in the show have done
1. As far as Cell, that was because his presence was putting the Earth in danger - he had too many enemies threatening the earth because of him. Raditz, Nappa/Vegeta, Frieza/King Cold, the Androids, Cell, etc. All these dudes were after Goku so he figured the Earth was safer if he wasn't around.
2. After he defeated Frieza he crash landed on Yardrat. He stayed there for a year or so learning instant transmission and then came back to Earth. Considering that Instant Transmission saved the Earth on multiple occasions, it was worth spending a little time away. And let's not act like he wasn't with his family for 3+ years after he came back, until he died fighting Cell.
3. By the time he went to train Uub his kids were grown and out of the house.

Vegeta stans remind what's wrong with black folks. Worshiping the lovable loser bad guy who hasn't any success period. Vegeta is a fukking loser. He couldn't beat Frieza to avenge his father or his people. He couldn't beat Goku who failed in his mission to destroy the earth. He couldn't beat android 18 after challenging her. He couldn't beat Perfect cell after letting him attain perfection. He couldn't beat Buu after letting his insecurity and ego get in the way and fought Goku who holding back to spare his feelings. Vegeta is a fukking loser. As a black man I'm insulted by the notion that I should be a fan of someone who hasn't done JACK shyt when it counted.

Vegeta was a weakling holding grudges instead of letting them go. Why should we black folks hold outselves back to the slave days in 2014.
It's clear Vegeta never really changed when he decided to kill them folks at the World Tournament to get Goku to fight him. He still held the grudge of being humiliated in his first battle on Earth. It only appeared that he changed because he had Trunks and Bulma occupying his time. That's why his power never rose to the level of Goku's over the past 7 years before becoming Majin. He only cared about gaining strength simply for the ego and not to be the best he can be.

Literally any one of them could have turned SSJ god, besides all that the upgrade is borrowed power from Vegeta anyway
