This is my favorite era of Austin and some of his best promo work of his career was during this fued.

LOL @ Bret telling Austin his stones were too cold to come out there and fight him.

Austin had his moments but this fued produced one of the illist you:ufdup: quotes in pro wrestling history...and it came from Bret!:gladbron:

"Im not greedy for money, im greedy for respect! And at the end of this Austin, you will respect me!"
if ever one line summed up a wrestler perfectly, it was that one in regards to who/what Bret is:myman:

I have personally quoted that shyt at a nikka irl and it is empowering af:whoo:

IMO, It's not either of their best fueds. Austin's best feud was with The Rock (or Mr. McMahon) and Bret's best feud was with HBK, and there's been too many classic feuds to say one is easily the GOAT.
well thats your opinion, and i said mine

With Austin it's pretty universal that The Rock was his best feud.

But with Bret, I can definitely see someone saying Austin was his best feud because his with HBK was more of a behind the scenes rivalry where they only had two real high profile matches that took place almost 2 years apart. (I'm not counting Survivor Series '92) Which got me thinking about Bret's best WWF feuds and how I would rank them, probably something like this:
1. Bret/HBK
2. Bret/Austin
3. Bret/Owen
4. Bret/Lawler
5. Bret/Diesel

The Rock was his best rival, As far as fued goes none of those others you listed was as heated as Austin/Bret just watch the promos Austin and Bret have been doing in 96-97 they legit sound like they were going off script just to trash each other on the mic
I cant recall a memorable HBK/Bret Hart promo

Austin/Bret led to classic matches, moments, and PPVs

I see what you mean but you don't think Bret/Owen was a very heated feud? Bret/HBK wasn't as heated as Bret/Austin? I'm not so sure about that. shyt, even Bret/Lawler was heated with Lawler constantly insulting Bret's family. (especially his parents) I think you're shortchanging those a little bit. Those were all great feuds.

Austin's promos on Bret were classic and some of the best ever.....Bret's were mostly same ole same ole from the Hitman (outside of his snapping promo on Raw) The heat and intensity of that feud all came from Austin who pretty much carried that whole thing IMO.

As far not recalling any memorable HBK/Bret promos/interviews they did have some good ones I hope some of these can refresh your memory...

It's missing another good promo the night after WM13 where Bret turned heel and Shawn came out to confront him but I can't seem to find that one right now.
