I understand being homesick but at the same time, the timing is weird. Hopefully someone talks to him and have him reconsidered. It's no lock that Fields will be starter and you may never know what happens during the season. Probably needs a pep talk from some veterans.

Yeah it’s a lock. But he’s only here for 2 years. Baldwin could stay and play out the last year of his eligibility like he’ll likely do at another school. That makes the other reason of being homesick more reasonable than him losing the startling job. He won’t win a job at a new place just in the fall. He’ll sit out a year anyway, and will have to find the most ideal situation to find a place to start in 2020. So he wouldn’t start anywhere until the 2021 season whether he’s here or anywhere else.

I guess this is just similar to Clemson’s situation. Kelly Bryant and the other QB left and they were left with Trevor and nothing and just hoping Trevor doesn’t get hurt. Seems to be the situation around college football now. With the way they protect QBs now, it might now be so fatal.
