Uh yea it's still on him, he scored points but he wasn't kicking 80yard fg's from their own 20 yard line, the offense put him in position to make fg's, they set him up for a game winner and he missed so
The offense's job is to score touchdowns. Generally, a kicker only has to make a field goal after the offense stalls.

Just shows how fine the lines are in life. If he would have made it, the main talking point would have been how having a good kicker can make all the difference come playoff time. Would have gotten props and accolades from teammates, fans, media, etc. One play, one moment can change everything.
