Myself and my own.
It's the black dress and up-do combined with sitting at an angle on a bean bag chair that does it
shyt is unintentional comedy
:russ:

You see it. :mjlol:

Maids don't sit at the head of the table but I feel you

I cannot imagine being the only black person in my house/for the holidays

I hope she had fun or whatever
You know why I only date black women? Because having to take a photo like that scares the living shyt out of me. Swap the sex her and her partner and the breh would be looking like the butler. I couldn't do it :sadcam:

As I mentioned before, it's a bad arrangement for the picture. From a racial context it is even worse, given the whole history surrounding all of these things. As for seating, traditional tables allow for two seats at the head of the table and people opt for one for the sake of grandstanding. Since the host and hostess are throwing the party, for the sake of the picture, you should utilize an elevated source for the camera as a means of capturing everyone including yourself. When my wife and I took a similar picture with our families, we were able to utilize an elevated shot on top of others. This is either lazy or just stupid arrangement.

It amazes me this has to be explained. Smh.
“People op for it for the sake of grandstanding”.

But that’s the thing. What type of ppl want to grandstand? Having money doesn’t mean you need to buck all tradition 🤣

It isn’t the best shot but the racial element is what really sets it off. She isn’t sensitive to that because she doesn’t care or because she’s that comfortable around those ppl.
Did he need to include that photo- no, def not.

Again, traditionally, the host and hostess sit at the head and foot of the table. Or across from each other in the center. That’s literally proper etiquette. Any young woman can pull out her old etiquette book from youth and find that spelled out plainly.

Yes, they could have taken a shot with them both at the head if it were to be included in the photo dump.

The issue, to me, is the lack of other Black faces and whatever she is sitting on. Clearly she wanted to help their child eat so he’s seated at the end with her. The optics look 10x worse because she’s a Black woman who married into a white fam and doesn’t have any of her ppl present.

Which is part of the reason I avoid interracial relationships. We’d be skipping right over this if this were an all white or all black family.

This isn’t some grand formal event where they are hosting royalty, heads of state, a reception, etc. It’s a family dinner. They just happen to live in a damn castle. :laff:

My aunt and uncle hosted dinner with more guests than this in their sprawling home and they didn’t sit at the head of the table together. Never do. The hosts sit at either end that way you both can view (and essentially control the dinner).

That’s all I’m saying. Yes, it’s LAZY. Because it’s probably just a simple family dinner TO THEM.
