Sorry if I came off that way. I just wanted to know why y'all were using qualifiers like Eritrean etc. when (at least where I'm from) people would assume they are the same as us. I'm aware that before the Europeans knew Africa existed, Africa had (and still does) has it own ethnicities/races.

But what's the point of this thread when the chicks y'all posting could easily pass for Black Americans?

And I don't appreciate your insinuations that I'm some c00n or something. Most Black folks are mixed up to the point it would be pointless claiming one of the original African ethic groups. So I don't know what else to refer to myself as other than Black.

Sir, why are you so adamant about placing Western European derived labels on these lovely young women? Can we not just admire & enjoy their breathtaking & astonishing beauty (while squeezing a nut or 2 off if necessary) without placing Euro-centric tags on them?

And if you can't see that East Africans have a distinct & unique look, you need a pair of glasses. Everybody native to the DC area knows a Habesha when they see one. Even white people are able to distinguish the difference here. Just because you're a sheltered, uncultered country bumkin living in a bubble, doesn't mean that all people of African descent are.

Which is the reason why I said others do know, so they will call themselves it. If you can't see that they have a distinct look then I don't know what else to say.

Sir, why are you so adamant about placing Western European derived labels on these lovely young women? Can we not just admire & enjoy their breathtaking & astonishing beauty (while squeezing a nut or 2 off if nessecary) without placing Euro-centric tags on them?

Even white people are able to distinguish the difference here. Just because you're a sheltered, uncultered country bumkin living in a bubble. Doesn't mean that all people of all people of African descent are.

I don't care about labeling. Y'all are caught up with the labels. These women are beautiful no doubt. I just wanted to know the difference. I wanted to be able to tell. I wanted to learn and grow. And I got attacked for it. I think my first post in this thread was asking the difference. I admit I should have specified physical difference.

And if you can't see that East Africans have a distinct & unique look, you need a pair of glasses. Everybody native to the DC area knows a Habesha when they see one. I see women like the ones in this thread all the time. They don't wear shirts that say "I'm a East African" so when you post women that look like them, I don't think "habesha" I think Black. Yes I used to word Black. I was my bloodline was homogeneous enough to say I'm a Ethiopian or whatever but it isn't.

And that's another thing, I would never try to force Black/African people to except Euro ideals. I honestly don't know where you're getting that from. It's hard for me to describe what I'm talking about without saying "Black"

And you're probably right about me being a bumpkin. It's just that, as I already said, chicks from around my parts who look like the ones in this thread don't have Eritrean tattooed to their head. Maybe in DC women/men of these ethic groups can't go a single conversation without bringing up their ethic origins but they don't around here. And thus, I wouldn't think to ask.

If someone could have simply showed me a chart or something when I asked at first it would have been all peace, love, and daps. But as usual, coli dudes had to get combative for no reason.

@ShaneTheRogue You can usually tell by the eyes and face shape. It is not as apparent in the pictures others have posted b/c the women are wearing a lot of make up. IMO it is not totally obvious that all the women in those pictures are Ethiopian/Eritrean/Habesha. They tend to have large almond "bedroom" eyes, diamond or oval faces and darker colorings around the eyes and lips. Here are pictures of what I think of when I think of a "typical" Ethiopian/Eritrean/Habesha woman.
