Ethiopian/Eritrean/Habesha Women Appreciation Thread
The oromo ethnic group is very diverse as a result of recent migrations to habesha lands and resulting intermarriage with habesha people, but youre right. I would say one third of the country looks "classic mullato" while the rest is Cushytic which is a distinct look in itself.

Oromos are the largest Cushytic-speaking group of people living in Northeast Africa. Available information suggests that they have existed as a community in the Horn of Africa for several millennia (Prouty et al., 1981). Bates (1979) contends that the Oromo "were a very ancient race, the indigenous stock, perhaps, on which most other peoples in this part of eastern Africa have been grafted".

I agree that those oromos either mixed with the habesha themselves or with the non-Africans that created the hybrid habesha. however, the reality is MOST oromos don't look like the pics you posted. they are significantly more negroid in appreance.

I think this girl would be a fair representation of what a pure oromo person looks like. She comes from a very remote tribe that has had no contact with the habesha or the outside world. And There's no such thing as a broader negroid race, that's just bad scientific racism. Africa has many tribes in the west and the East who are diverse in looks. Stop listening to the white man who discounts Africa's diversity
And foreigners have never colonised Ethiopia (Italy was a 4 yr occupation)

The "Habesha" race came about when the Cushytic empire of Axum(proto habeshas), a trading empire and regional naval superpower that had links to Greece, Rome and India started colonising southern Arabia which brought an influx of west Asians into the Horn of Africa through the Yemen straits. These cacs also brought Judaism and Christianity. They controlled the Red Sea trade routes between Rome and India which also brought an influx of cac and Indian traders into Ethiopia. Aksum which is in the tigray region of Ethiopia was essentially the New York City of the southern Arab peninsula and North East Africa. The local black population became prosperous. People who wanted to strike it rich went to aksum to trade with foreigners. The Arabs had to pay tax to their black abyssinian conquerors for more then 500 years
Eventually with all these cacs trading and marrying the local cushyte axumites, our culture changed and we became more Semitic and eventually we lost our Cushytic traditions and culture
