I was skeptical, but early on, right after the pick Phil explained that the kids dimensions and skill set were unique and they already met with his entire family and they were good folks. his entire family played (mom, dad, and older brother) pro ball in Europe. They knew what they were getting with this kid and it had nothing to do with his eyes. That's called actual scouting.

Great on offense, horrible on defense. Hard to stay on the floor with his defense but he's shooting lights out

It's better than judging a player because he has "soft eyes" and assuming that "no guy who looks like that" is gonna immediately bust before seeing a second of play from them.

If Melo gets Kristaps in the gym and works on some squats and get them glutes nice and plump and turn those legs into tree trunks, KP will be a beast on the low block. No one will be able to budge him if he did post moves with the pump glutes of Melo to provide strength and foundation
