I dont see what was so bad about what HHH said about Ric being a liar. It was highlighting that Reid clearly had a problem but Flair giving it a blind eye
Reid probably had the same gene that drove Ric to desperately need to be the top dog, but Reid knew he'd always live in his father's shadow.:francis:

Because HHH said it... you know if Arn Anderson had said it, nobody woulda batted an eye to it. The way I saw it, your real friends will tell the truth- doesn't mean they don't care about you or like you. If he didn't give a fukk about Reid's drug problem or Flair's drinking, he wouldn't have done shyt.

Either way, great documentary. I'm actually glad it wasn't just a "Flair was the greatest everything" doc. It highlighted the great parts of his life and the not-so-great parts of his life. It's nothing different from stuff we've said about him on here, except the people saying it actually know him. Flair in the 80s was :lawd:, man... as kids we were probably rooting for his opponent, but we wouldn't rooted for them so loudly if we didn't hate him so much. Best bad guy ever- always found a way to escape with the title and make us want somebody to finally whoop his ass. And yeah, Vince n'them dropped the ball with Hogan/Flair for Mania VIII. If they had kicked the feud into high gear on TV and really got it rollin', we woulda been on that shyt like :lupe:

True, but it wasn't the dream match tho'... Savage/Flair was incredible, wouldn't trade it for nothin'. But that Hogan/Flair dynamic was somethin' people talked about for years and never thought we'd see cause they were in different companies. It was the equivalent of how we never thought we'd see Hogan/Andre cause they were both good guys, same with Warrior/Hogan... Hogan/Flair def. deserved to headline that Mania. They could've still done Savage/Flair anyway.

two cringeworthy moments that ruined the whole show for me:

1.) cooon doggy dogg claiming that ric flair is one of "us"

2.) triple h trying to bring that WWE revisionist propaganda to ESPN, talembout the flair/Hogan feud in WCW was 10 years too late. lol. but it wasn't 8 years too late when the WWF tried to do it just two years prior?

did they skip over his TNA run? I was doing other stuff by that point.

The tna run was brief and they showed it in an embarrassing light
Ignoring the highlight that was flair and black machismo

Ric still seems completely in denial that his son died because he was trying to emulate the lifestyle of his father. Before they played the audio of the 911 call, he was laughing about how great and funny it was that Reid was inviting neighbors over to drink with him at 16, and how much fun he was at 21 wanting to go to the bars with him. Juxtaposed with Charlotte saying how they as teenagers spent an entire summer getting shytfaced every night because their family had completely crumbled apart and how that wasn't normal or healthy at all.
