end of day it not a luxury most people can afford and sales/success points to graphics having very little to do with success of a video game.

-which is why MOBAS (league of legends/dota) is currently the most popular gaming genre (free to play, not really graphic related, can run on most computers old and new because of low graphic requirements)

-Counter Strike is still king of FPS competitive scene. Despite Overwatch, Battlefield and Call of Duty looking better. the low graphic requirements mean more accessible world wide. Also due to the overall simple nature of the graphics and game play spectators rather good or bad at the game, can easily visually follow along.

Overwatch is the highest selling FPS game of all time already (in less than a year) and while the competitive scene is still #2 behind counter strike, its a very distant #2 and doesnt seem to be closing the gap any time soon. One of the main complaints is that with all the graphic shyt going on (explosions, different animations, etc) its harder to spectate.

-The highest selling RPG franchise of all time, Diablo and especially highest selling MMO of all time, World of Warcraft, arent graphic intense either. Again following the philosphy, graphics are nice to have, but having less graphics and more sales due to more people having access to the game is better.
