Even though it's an old book, I feel like this book put in well about the difference between poor blacks and poor whites. Being poor is tough, but it's harder for poor blacks.

But some poor people can easily do better if they use their resource, and I know in NYC, there are many resources for Poor Blacks, especially HIV patients, veteran's and mentally disabled. I mean, we can't look at it as having it harder, it just won't help us get anywhere.
