I remember Ronnie Lott was talking shyt about Eric before one game...which I didn't like because as a 49ers fan, Eric dikkerson was the scariest player they had to face every year.

Eric didnt say anything....and at the next game, Eric trucked the shyt outta Ronnie Lott. Straight put his head down and drove that niqqa damn near into the ground. Ronnie was saved because his teammates jumped on Eric's back before he could completely truck Ronnie....

ED and Marcus Allen should get talked about a lot more than they do in all time RB discussions

I get why you mention Marcus Allen, but he didnt gain 1,000 yards ever again after 1986.

I know its not his fault because of Al Davis, etc, but you cant play the what if game either.

Eric dikkerson tho, that dude has been forgotten. RG3's running stride reminds me of Eric dikkerson's. Its so beautiful and easy that you don realize how fast they are actually going.

I dont remember seeing him play, but whn I was a kid and wore football goggles, the only reason they were cool was b/c dikkerson wore them. :obama:

I still wanted AP to break the record tho. :to:

Even after getting buried by Al Marcus became a HOFer and is only about a 1000 rushing yards behind ED. It's not far fetched to say he had a shot at the top considering he barely got the ball for 4 years in Oakland and from what I can remember pre-86 was the only time Marcus was the sole back. Every other year he had to share carries

It still baffles my mind how Bettis and Curtis Martin have more yards than both of them.

Eric and AD are the best backs I've ever seen at attacking safeties with pure speed once they hit the second level. Both of them get there and just make one cut to hit the corner and simply leave safeties flatfooted.

Eric dikkerson did that in 4 less years and 30 less carries

and pre-86 LA Raiders were a GREAT team. Im not trying to diminish Marcus Allen but Eric dikkerson is a top 10 RB, Marcus Allen isnt. Its not Marcus Allen's fault because of the Al Davis thing, but you cant compare these two.

It isn't about the Raiders snuff. Marcus to me is the precursor to LT and Faulk. Al fukking him off ended up with coaches coming up with creative ways to use him he was playing WR at some snaps and even full back catching balls out of the backfield.
