Didn't read the thread and I think it's a bit premature with him only being mayor; don't care if he's the mayor of the city with biggest GDP in the world; but I honestly think he has a good future should he not fukk up like DeBlasio. Dude is a straightshooter who talks that shyt and can pull in many different demos. Just don't know if he has those aspirations. I think for the next decade or so, politicians like him will eat well.

yes because raising the budget is always harder than cutting it and our schools need more, not less.

I see a few of his moves following the Trump playbook like photo ops with black people with clout while it remains to be seen whether he will enact any helpful policy. Also, blaming the media/threatening to boycott them because they're corrupt or misconstrue his words. Welcome to being a politician/celebrity breh.

It's the Whites that will decide if he becomes mayor again and he knows that. That's why he walked back the "Go back to Ohio" comments way back when. Because he knows that the transplants and whites gentrifying the Black neighborhoods that he's fooled into thinking he's on their side...THOSE are the people who will determine if he wins another term and whether or not this term goes smoothly.
The Blacks put him over the top during a time when people wanted to make sure the overt Trumpian racism wasn't taking over...they don't want THAT...they want a subtle type of racism that allows them to remain pristine in the face of obvious inequality.
He needs the whites who got BLM flags and posters in the windows of the homes they live in...homes that were purchased on the cheap from Black families that once lived in the neighborhood OR from landlords who raised the rent on those apartments and forced them out of those neighborhoods.
I'ma let it develop more so ya'll see the entire picture...be patient
