does he even sleep comfortably or does he just fear that door knock?

probably sleeps like a baby, he's been a criminal his entire life

I don't know what they're after this time but I suspect it has to do with foreign agents again. Feds are really on that right now, he was an idiot to even let that entire his orbit. Should've stuck to the murkier influence peddling and financial crimes he usually engages in.

I mean does ehe need other economic and domestic policies when that checks all the boxes?

I honestly think he ends up getting indicted himself before his term is over...

This.

I remember in the primaries how he said the shyt about hundreds of kids in a Zoom meeting being the future and then when he started to feel the heat on it, he straight up lied on the radio on WQHT about a soundbite that is easily found. Not a political spin or a half truth, but more of a complete disregard of the facts. I don't trust most politicians, but he seems excessively unscrupulous... Kwame Kilpatrick/Clay Davis vibes.
[...]
He might be able to play the race card around any untoward corruption schemes that he will inevitably be tied up in, but the minute police kill someone unjustly or one of his 'unchallengeable' choices harms black/brown people, he will burn up a lot of the capital he created over the years, and will lose the main tool of his arsenal
Just want to give flowers to @88m3 for the prescient call (and myself for co-signing it lol)

:salute:

shame it took so long but better late than never

hopefully the city can heal and get back on the right track quickly

I'm aslo hopeful it straightens the rest of the trash out in city government/agencies. I think a lot of people are going to go down with him thankfully.

just need to get @Professor Emeritus to take the blinders off

You gotta go through the Jew engine to be mayor tho…. Deblasio made off with that 100 mill homeless initiative he put his wife in charge of :dead:

Really good piece about the actual state of crime in New York vs the perception adams created and how that perception is hurting New Yorkers and Adams’ own approval ratings.

And here’s more proof that media impacted perceptions on crime more than the realities.

I'm not saying it's baseless to point at crime increases and homelessness rising as a concern. But it's the outsized coverage of those increases and misplaced blame for the causes of those problems. The increases felt stark compared to recent years, but not in any other context. The city was still safer than other large cities and safer than it was for anyone who was around in 00's or earlier.

I get that seems meaningless if you're in the midst of it, but here's the thing...right now the numbers are starting to show signs of decline again virtually everywhere but murder (which has rapidly slowed, so hopefully that will follow suit next). There's still work to do to hit historic lows, but it's not the descent that it might feel like. It's the difference between "crime rose during the pandemic so we need to fix some things" and "crime has exploded, now we're on a path to destruction." It might feel like the latter, but I'd argue that's perception.

And to throw it in, I think homelessness is a major issue that needs to be addressed better. But I don't think Adams approach is productive or helpful personally, though that's a whole different discussion.
I was looking for the thread where I was explaining this because of the recent data showing fast declines in crime now that we're fully out of pandemic mode:

But also...Go back to the first few pages and see the vast majority of politically informed New Yorkers not liking Adams off the rip. :mjlol:

And, shout out to whoever tipped AOC off about the indictment in the pipeline, because she was first to call for him to resign right before this news popped off.

1/4
The criminal indictment against New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been unsealed.

The NYC mayor has been indicted on five federal charges of bribery, fraud, and soliciting illegal foreign campaign donations from the Turkish government that prosecutors say began when he was an elected official in Brooklyn and continued after he became mayor.

😬

2/4
Not too soon. He's invoking Donald Trump. Gross.

3/4
Wouldn't shock me in the slightest.

4/4
Immediately.
