Or course TLR is more angry at this dude than the corporation not paying him enough to live. :mjlol::mjpls:

@Wild self come in here in and look at this shyt.

No, this is a very serious issue that he's bringing attention to.

He got his rent raised with no increase in pay in Seattle. And he asked to work remotely at the same salary in a city with lower COL.:stopitslime: People are doing much worse for less.

It doesn't really seem like the corporation in the biggest problem in this story. Their wage may not be the greatest sure, but its not like they lowered his wage or anything like that. The bigger issue that lead to this is his cost of living increasing due to his landlord hoeing him in the middle of a pandemic and not being able to reach anyone else on short notice. The area being too expensive in general is more because a housing crisis that needs MUCH bigger intervention than is happening right now by a place higher up in the chain than his company. The organization was letting him rock in the office lowkey and told him it's tiktok or the job and he chose tiktok :manny: He even said "fukk a future job I'm riding this tiktok wave" which is perfectly fine if he can eat off it but its not like he NEEDED to make this decision by any means

These corporate bootlicking c00ns will defend landlords jacking up vast rent increases and stagnant worker salaries.

WFH must be the norm.

The office was apparently empty since everyone was already working from home.

some jobs allow wfh but u must be local & come into the office regularly for meetings etc
so i'm guessing that is likely why his co-workers are remote but he's unable to move away to a cheaper city

People like him piss me off the most.

It is getting harder and harder to do people a favor by turning a blind eye to infractions, that are no skin off your back, because stupid mother fukkers like him believe in broadcasting their actions to the world.

he's not stupid at all, he selflessly brought attention to the disparity between his wages and cost of living. this ain't over for his former employer and they'll have to address wages and cost of living.

Yo ppl claiming that he should have kept it offline have it backwards. No matter how dumb this was, staying there forever was not the goal.

The views and followers are worth much more than temporary room and board. If he can continue to entertain them. Hopefully the breh has talent

You are wrong and I am going to explain why.

The first point I'm going to address is his motives.

“My recommendation [is to] empower managers to give out raises based on performance rather than treating everyone the same,” he told The Post."

How does his proposal address the increase in wage not matching the increased cost in living? If the company has an approach of increasing salaries across the board, that is more effective in ensuring people across the companies have a salary that is proportionate to what they were earning in previous years.

His proposal is, arguably, selfish. A reduced amount of people in the company would receive a pay increase whilst those without would push themselves harder and harder to get the recognition needed to increase their pay.

Then you move on to the message sent which is what a lot of these anti-work dikkheads don't understand. Recognising the need for salaries to allow people to meet the cost of living is something that anyone with a conscience can get on board with.

However people are not going to get on board with people taking the piss and using tiktok to clout chase. Moreover when the message being pushed is selfish (don't give a raise across the company. Give it to those who has "earned it").

Making matters worse is I doubt he is the only person who has used office space to crash whilst they sort out living arrangements. It is the sort of thing that goes on but, providing it doesn't cause an issue, goes unchecked.

All he has done is flagged to someone the need for controls. Line managers will now be unable to turn a blind eye as I imagine they will be expected to carry audits on when people sign in and out for the day.

A lot of you guys missed the point.

Im in a similar situation now… rent is going up, gas is going up, cost of living is going up SIGNIFICANTLY, and people are resulting to drastic measures to survive comfortably out here.

I had a convo with an uber driver yesterday about the city I’m in. I was looking for another source of income and asked him how did he enjoy doing it, he hated it but he literally said with his expenses (child support seemed to be his biggest gripe) he had to do what he had to do.

My company literally LOWERED my salary last year and brought up some shyt about earning more PTO hours and I was like :gucci:

I actually refused to sign the contract for months and talked to different people that are over the contracts in regards to it. They are now getting investigated by the Department Of Labor and just dropped a check on one of my co-workers under the same company I’m under because of this.

COL is going up but jobs are not willing to pay workers what they’re worth because of greed.

Not to mention, I’m single making a certain amount in this country with no dependents and I’m getting fukked in taxes too… all because I have chosen to avoid kids. I’m actually thinking of moving as well…

I wish he had put the company on blast too. He literally said he respectfully asked for a raise or to be transferred somewhere else where he could survive with his current pay since most the office already worked remotely. I honestly feel that him being a black man had something to do with it as well.

He’s bringing awareness to a very serious and real issue

The Coli don't care about Black folk :coffee:

He was fukked either way, figured he would bring awareness to an issue and you have people looking down on him for it :coffee:
