"Dont touch Hakeem while Cookie is alive":demonic:

But those Bomani tweets are 100 the truth but like I said earlier sometimes you got to turn off your brain and enjoy the fukkery. Lee Daniels cant write for shyt and it shows but thats what make the show a guilty pleasure

I just tried to watch it at my desk. I turned that shyt off after the first 5 minutes. We making fun of real shyt that matters now?

What's sad is I don't think they were making fun of it. I think they were trying to have a "real" and "deep" moment, but the writing on this show is so terrible and over the top that it comes off like a mockery.

So that box with the severed head in it was sealed so tightly...no smell would come out before them opening it? :jbhmm:

Who authorized Chris Rock in a serious role where his humor isn't used at all? :jbhmm:

That scene where Lucious had Chris Rocks goons turn on him in prison kind of resembled the scene with Chalky on Boardwalk Empire :jbhmm:

Nah Rock's humor was utilized, he was trolling with the facial expressions and tough guy voice. You could tell during some parts he wanted to burst out with laughter. The way he said "bye" to Luscious had me :dead:

Umm yeah we are knocking it for that. Everybody is not into gay shyt like you. If you like gay entertainment then do you. That's just not entertaining to me personally. Would you go to a gay bar just cause the the drinks were good and the dj dope? Would you knock the bar for that?
You acting like the entire show based around gay shyt you retard :heh:

Here’s something you probably didn’t realize about Chris Rock’s “Empire” character: the comedian was playing a cannibal.

Rock’s Frank Gathers, for whom Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) and Lucious (Terrence Howard) worked in their drug business days, was originally intended to have an extra-creepy edge to him. In the scene where Rock interrogates Cookie’s cousin while cutting up unidentifiable meat, “Empire” makeup artist Karen Lynn Accattato explained to the Observer that creator Lee Daniels wanted to show Rock eating human flesh.

“Lee wanted him to be a cannibal, but I guess it was too much for Fox,” Accattato said. “During the filming for scenes with Chris, Lee Daniels had this inspiration. He wanted to take it to the next level. Because that’s what Lee does. On the makeup department, they told us, ‘We want him to be eating this guy’s flesh. Come up with some flesh.'”

She added, “We actually went to craft service, grabbed some steak and cut off the fat, and glued it on to the actor’s skin. When Lee Daniels says he wants an effect, you have to get that effect.”

Sadly, Frank’s darker tendencies are unlikely to ever see the light of day (despite Cookie referring to him as “Hannibal”), since the character came to a suitably vicious end in the season premiere, after Lucious bought off Frank’s men and had him killed — but not before took the opportunity to twist the knife and told Frank he planned to sign the gangster’s musically-inclined daughter to Empire and “slip her my bone.” Such a charmer.

“Empire” airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on
