He never spoke on his mom because It was a traumatizing time of his life he never wants to relive.
So yeah, Cookie was upset about them thinking Andres condition was just him buggin when Lucious knew the whole time, he just shrugged it off like what...the reason why Lucious had decided to explain himself to save face.
Thats why he said "we didnt have a name for it back then" acknowledges he knew there WAS sort of issue and Andre inhereted those bi polar genes.

Not really...mentally unstable is not a prognosis for calling some bi-polar.
Again not to mention, they where a couple...he wait's until the last moment 30 something odd years later...when it was already figured out.
They KNEW their son was bi-polar.
Yet, Lucious's drag was "we didnt have a name for it" when for sake of argument, could have mentioned it when the signs first appeared in Andre's youth.
Luciuous KNEW what was going on with his son..he was just to embarrassed and narcissistic to reveal it.
