Am i the only one who thinks 18 eps might be stretching the product to thin. It may get saturated and watered down with all these eps. Plus gabby and the other chick getting FT roles, to me they're better in the background, we don't need to see them every episode. Keep their appearances short and sweet IMO.

The Oscar winner will recur as a demanding venture capitalist.

Empire is adding an Oscar winner to its ranks.

Marisa Tomei has joined season two of the Fox smash, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Tomei will recur as Mimi Whiteman, a demanding venture capitalist who becomes involved with the Lyon family. The Forbes list billionaire is a lover of hip-hop, social trends, high-end fashion and beautiful women.

Tomei joins a growing list of impressive guest stars, including Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz and Adam Rodriguez. Season two of Empire began shooting in June.

Although Tomei got her start on TV series As the World Turns and later A Different World, her only recent TV gig was an arc on Rescue Me. An Oscar winner for her performance in My Cousin Vinny, her recent credits include Parental Guidance and Crazy, Stupid, Love. Tomei is repped by CAA and Jackoway Tyerman.

The new season of Empire premieres on Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. on Fox.

Watch the cast slowly but surely get whiter and whiter to appeal to a "broader" audience...Marisa Tomei is cool in my book...but I see what they tryna do. Can black people have ANYTHING to ourselves?

Ahhh and so it begins how it always works out. Get a mostly black show and it becomes a hit. Then slowly whiten the show.

Fox has done this before....remember In Living Color and New York Undercover. These networks stay playing black folks and it never ends.

Which is stupid because this show already gets more viewers than Walking Dead...I believe its the number 1 show in tv as far as viewers go as well.
