This is an "anthem" song? My first opinion was wow, he's releasing THIS as a first single? Doesn't sound like something radio stations and stadiums will pick up like they did Not Afraid.

I'm not saying the song is some all time classic, but it's Eminem. People always ask Em to go back to his roots and this is the type of shyt he'd spit back in the day. But with a fanbase like his, same way with Jay/Wayne/Kanye, it's rare people will ever all agree with his new material.

He did that on the bad meets evil and relapse and did it much better then this...
I only really have a problem with the verses on this..

I just think it's something different and that it's definitely nothing like Recovery. It's the type of craziness that he brought on SSLP and MMLP. I'm not going crazy like this song is amazing but I don't think it's trash either. It's different and the hook is a banger. Because it's Eminem and the expectations he has, people are probably gonna trash it but if this was a new debuting rapper people would probably be intrigued by this song, whether good or bad.

eminem used to rhyme over minamalism beats, and most of his verses had an arch. When listening to his stuff he painted a picture in your head, told a story, etc.

Now he's a rappity rap rapper with wack punchlines, over production, and uses other bizarre and annoying gimmicks. (yelling, half-singing, squealing/screeching, etc.)

Em did classic Em with this track, with a little bit of a different flavor(obviously song is inspired by an old school sound). This shyt was basically Without Me/My name is Real Slim shady caliber shyt. I'm not gonna base the albums sound off this because from Ems track record his first singles almost NEVER sound like the first single. Its just a bullshyt silly/slim shady song for him to get on the radio.


That being said I enjoyed the lil jabs and the fact that it was this type of song. If this says anything its that we may be getting away from the recovery sound and back to him being on his wilder shyt. Hence the album title. Still too earlier to say or assume tho. The gawd is back tho
