Don’t Think Anyone Expected You NOT To Like It lol

Even as a big fan of Em I can be objective, you ain't see me going nuts over the BET thing because it was :russell:

I wasn't even expecting to like it but it's poetry and relevant to my life at the moment. I just don't think people understand dropping a spoken word piece without drums as a 'single' because you usually go for something that will get radio play. This sounds more like an album intro than a 'single' but of course they were going to throw it out there if Beyonce was is on it.

personally, I don't mind the content, it's that hook and beat that kill the momentum. Doesn't help that he's not really on beat, either.

If he had the balls to do it, he shoulda released it as a straight up accapella.

another acapella? after his below average Bet freestyle? no thanks:whoa:

he's just got to ride into the sunset at this stage... some rappers lose their touch over time (50 cent, cam'ron) and some can rap till death (jay still sounds fresh).

em just gotta pass that torch and do shyt behind the scenes.

Ems new style is unlikable...its really that simple. Mix that preferred rhyme pattern with extremely lack luster song writing and you have this predicament. He is not a shock rapper anymore. He is not on drugs....he is not hip hops underdog..and he is not anywhere remotely close to broke..his kids are grown...KIM is MIA and his crew split up.

People just dont care about what he has to say....more importantly he has nothing left to say....unlike Jay who found a way to bring fans closer into his life...Em has no lee way to do that as he already did that 20 years ago.

He could go opposite and do a braggdosies album like Old Jay...but he is a hillbilly at heart..so it will come off like Yellawolf probably. Its time to acknowledge its a wrap. And this albums poor sales will seal that coffin for good.......he had a damn good run. But when asked what more could he say....the answer should be nothing.....

In my opinion he doesn't necessarily have to "say" anything at this point, trying to dig extra deep or battle against some sort of opposition is always going to be how he approaches his music. Kinda hard to do that when you've made it to where he's at so now he's just fighting against himself instead of bullies, his child hood or being white ect...he's looking for a 'battle' of some sort that he's already won. That's what mental illness feels like, you search for problems to fix even when shyt is all good.

my thing with Em is that he's an underground MC at heart...he should just be allowed to be weird, experiment and do his Kool Keith thing, but how when he's being tasked with being a pop star and keeping interscope a float? And I brought up Kool Keith and his ilk because that's who Em REALLY is which is why he shouted him out on a huge single on his last album...not the guy that's going to be held to industry standards to make hits and keep up with trends He's an underground MC that got to go mainstream because of white privilege. Now he attracts too much attention to just rhyme for the fukk of it.

Nobody knows for sure, soon though.

The promos for it are dope

shyt is like a Valtrex commercial :mjlol:

Given the medical theme, I expect Dr will be doing the bulk of the production like Relapse, which I would be happy about since I fukk with that album heavy.

I read somewhere that Rubin has like 5 tracks and Dre mixed a couple. Hopefully that's Dre doing his usual mix where he adds to the production and builds on the beat as opposed to literally just mixing the record.
