Eminem dropped his first single in over a year yesterday, Thursday 16 June. But could this track mark one of his last available to the public?
Well, according to previous comments made by rapper, that could well be the case, as the 49-year-old hinted he may stop putting out music after turning 50 years old.
In an earlier interview with VIBE, the 'Real Slim Shady' rapper - then 37 years old - admitted he wasn't sure 'how much longer [he had] in [the] game'.

He said: "I’m always going to love hip-hop. But how much longer am I going to still do it? I couldn’t really give you an answer. But the day that this is not better than the last will probably be the day I stop.
"I do love it so much. But even if I was rapping at 50 [years old], I don’t know if I would put it out. I know it always makes me feel better to lay things to tape, and—'Lay the tape.'
"See, I’m old school. The fans might say the shyt is garbage. You don’t how long people are going to want you around . . . Realistically, if I don’t rap, what the f*ck am I going to do? It’s too late to just be unfamous right now at this point."

Eminem joked that he 'hope' he doesn't need the money to have to keep going. However, he also reflected how he wants to just be 'regular'.
He said: "I don’t consider myself a star. Obviously, I know I’m a celebrity but I don’t look at myself in that light. I’m just me, man. It’s one of the reasons that I stay here [in Detroit].
"I don’t want the attention. I don’t like the attention. I don’t like all that shyt. Yes, I love the respect and the admiration that some people show me but I don’t thrive off that whole thing."

Eminem's latest hit 'The King and I' also features 'F**k You' singer CeeLo Green.
The release has been met with widespread excitement from fans, with one dubbing Eminem the 'Rap God'.
Meanwhile, another called for the star to release the album.
However, if Eminem meant what he said in his 2010 interview, then he doesn't have long to get cracking and release what would ultimately be his last publicly available album.

Eminem is currently 49 years old and his birthday is on 17 October, giving him just four months to squeeze out a potential final release.

With his content it would be kind of weird, lol. If he was on some Nas/Jigga shyt it would be fine to be like 58 still kickin that type shyt.

I aint really tryna hear madd pop references and whiteboy struggles and how you'll twist MC's testicles into pretzels with freckles and all that stupid shyt from a 50 year old, shut the fukk up.

Why are they using an interview from 2010/2011 as hinting towards anything? Eminem’s obsessed with hip hop and the art of rapping. He'll be dead before he stops doing it.

When he was younger, he said multiple times that he didn't want to continue rapping past 30. Lines like "'Til the fire inside dies and expires at thirty" on "Soldier." He said that if you saw him rapping twenty years down the line, then you should yank him off the stage. Encore was made at a time when he was strongly considering not rapping anymore and becoming a full-time producer. Then King Mathers was supposed to be his last album.

I think getting sober changed his mindset on all that. He probably realized he doesn't have that much time left and he's lucky to even be alive, so he should continue doing the things that make him happy, like rapping. I don't know if he has much else in his life that he's so passionate about. And he's teased it so many times ("25 to Life," "Bad Guy," "Castle/Arose") that it doesn't even mean anything anymore. His music aside, I don't see him going anywhere.

Are we saying New recorded music or music in general? I still think its fine to release already recorded music. Shouldnt hurt him in any way shape or form just to keep his fans entertained.

That being said Its probably for the best if he just stopped entirely now for good and we dont have to hear his garbage anymore.

Good, I know he been rumored to drop The Marshall Mathers LP 3. It being a retirement album the only way people outside his core fanbase will care.

He better not pull a Logic, something tells me he won't though
